Trump had nothing to do (AT ALL) with calling the police or calling the National Guard or Calling the Virginia or Maryland State police to come rescue congress and the Vice President. NOTHING!
So, at this point at least, Pence is now the De Facto "Defender in Chief" because Trump has escaped into a Fantasy sort of like the Senile old man that he has become. Hopefully, Pence can defend the Congress and himself and the country these next two weeks while Trump continues his unbelievably dangerous psychotic break from reality. Trump has demonstrated he is a danger not only to Congress and Pence and the American System of Governance but also to the whole world both directly and indirectly today.
Like I said before: "Trump couldn't even win an election for Dog Catcher in any city in the U.S. at this point." Whereas Pence is now a more viable Republican candidate for 2024 or 2028. Trump is now toast and that's all.
